Happy Birthday Queen!

First thing on the Queen's Birthday holiday, we thanked the Queen for having a Birthday. Next we thanked the powers that be for giving us a public holiday and then we jumped in the car and went for a drive....

To Mount Arapales

We climbed up Mitre Rock which is just next door to Mt Arapales

way up there....

Then we drove up to the summit on Mt Arapales and had a look around...

at the foggy countryside...

After which we headed into Horsham for lunch and a swim at the indoor pool!

A nice little family outing, one the boys want to do again

Meeting Miss Maddison

On the morning of Beau's 5th Birthday, not only were we celebrating Beau turning 5 but also the fact that cousin Nic had given birth to a beautiful baby girl, Maddison Hope Blacksell

Naturally we HAD to go meet her straight away!

Beau is FIVE!!!!

Beau was counting sleeps until his birthday, with a wishlist as long as his arm he was eager to find out what awaited him.....

A Drum Kit!! Its been on the list for a few years now,
(I was secretly hoping it was a faze and he would change his mind...)

Shearing Shed cake with Sheep and yards

Beau invited a few kindy friends over for a party and to go exploring at the local 'Faraway Tree'

Crazy kids....

Each Thursday Toby & Beau do Auskick footy, Davy goes along dressed in his footy gear and generally just plays in the playground.

This night he decided (and they let him) join in

It was rather cute to watch!

Easter travels

We organised for a group of us to go away camping for the Easter Break, originally destined for Nelson we detoured and stayed at South End instead.....

All packed and ready to go.....

It was beautiful weather, although I didn't think it was swimming weather but the kids surely did!

Southern Ocean waters are a bit chillier than Kingston.....

Back to the camper to warm up by the blow heater!

Exploring the coastline

and doing a spot of fishing....

these are the casual fishermen.....

....and these are the pros!!

Easter morning saw all the kids ready and raring to go and find what the Easter Bunny had left....

the bounty to share with everyone...

Whilst the Easter Bunny did leave eggs for the kids he took some hair off Steve and left him with a totally dreamy, hunky mullet haircut......

oh dear.....
