During the last school holidays we set off to explore the Eyre Peninsula with Simon, Helen, Jacqui, Ben & Erin
First quick stopover at Kimba
Our small galahs with a big one
Kimba's amazing painted silos
We made it to Streaky Bay where we set up camp for 4 nights at the foreshore caravan park. We had many adventures around the place and checked out all that Streaky Bay had to offer. A great place we would recommend to anyone.
Kids went crabbing out the front and came back with a haul of 5 big ones
Steve filleting a small haul of his own
Locals coming in for a look....
Murphy's Haystacks
Amazing rock formations that appear out of nowhere...
Checking out a Sea lion colony
Cooling off in some rock pools
Moving on to Elliston now, we stopped off and checked out some rugged coastline
and sand dunes of course!
Short stopover in Elliston saw us get a heavy downpour (20ml) overnight but some good fishing was had by the fellas
'bagging out' on tommies
Sunshine came out and the kids just had to get in the pool!
Helen celebrated her birthday at Elliston, with the celebratory slices & tarts curtesy of the local bakery
Onward to Coffin Bay and we scored some great weather
We stumbled upon some fishermen catching snapper.
Kids (and Dads) watched in awe of them chasing the school of fish, casting and catching fish in a matter of seconds!
Our last couple of days gave us some not so nice weather so it was off exploring Port Lincoln and its surrounds
Koppio Smithy Museum, a museum of all sorts of things....
Helen & Simon reenacting their wedding day
Matthew Flinders monument in Port Lincoln bombarded by Excell's and Altus'
