Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas…...

With Christmas just around the corner, it was time to start some of the festivities.
The word was put out around the Mundulla Community encouraging home owners to put Father Christmas somewhere in their front yard. So far we have spied him having a bath, taking a bike ride, mowing the lawn, stuck in a chimney, sitting by a campfire, the list goes on……..

Dad's Birthday

For the last 6 years we have celebrated Steve's birthday a few days late, this year was no exception but it was only 1 day late! Perhaps next year I can stuff him into the boot of the car and he can join in on the birthday fun in Sydney…...

Birthday Trip '13

We were home for a couple days to regroup after KI and then it was off to Sydney for the annual birthday drive to celebrate 3 girls special birthdays.
With a quick stopover and sleep in Echuca we were on the road again bound for Sydney

Birthday morning for the girls, posing with their stash of gifts

Checking out the amazing dollhouse, built by a very competent team of constructors

Morning tea was La's birthday at the park, with a lovely surprise of her very own Fire Brigade!
Needless to say she was the envy of every other child in the park….

 La's Duck cake

Leyla's heart cake

Beautiful birthday girls and a couple of handsome boys all dressed up swish for tea

Leyla and Beau enjoying the cake,
'are you going to eat that??'

"Do I have something in my teeth??"

We had another stopover / sleep with Miss Lexie but we were unable to stay for her birthday as Peppa Pig was waiting for us in Adelaide, so we dropped Ma ma off in our place.
Even in our absence Lexie had a wonderful day with Ma ma

Kangaroo Island

Steve said to me one night "We should go on a holiday somewhere" I was quick to go and book a trip anywhere - those words rarely leave Steve's mouth -ever!

We decided on Kangaroo Island, our next door neighbour and friend Chrissy, grew up there and her parents still live on the island and own a couple of holiday homes we could stay at.
So we packed our bags and set off towards the ferry…...

Our humble abode for the next week, D'Esteries Bay on the south coast

Our resident wanderer Beau scoping out the surrounds

Steve went out fishing and his first one caught was a Port Jackson shark - bloody ugly thing...

Toby waiting for the fish to bite…….

We went and did quite a few of the tourist parks, especially the ones Chrissy recommended.
Raptor Domain was the first port of call

Toby was very lucky and eager to volunteer to hold a Raptor (above) and owl (below)

The Reptile Show was next on the list

Last stop for the day was the Honey Farm to try some Honey Icecream
and also get some honey for Ma ma

Colouring with Dad- a rare event….

Next Day we were off to Stokes Bay on the North Coast, sunny day but the wind was bitterly cold

Beau snuggling into his resident wind guard

You have to climb through some rocks and caves to get to the beach
Toby loved this exploring

Back into the ute again and off to Paul's Place Wildlife sanctuary.

Feeding the locals

Beau's way of feeding the animals was to let them scourge around for left overs in his pusher!

Cuddling a koala

More snakes and lizards

After spending the morning with Sue and Danny, Chrissy's parents in Kingscote, we went for a drive around and stopped for a dip and a play at Emu Bay. A white sandy beach which is very popular during the summer months

That afternoon we went to see the Pelican Feeding at the Jetty

Checking the sights of Admiral's Arch

and doing a spot of seal watching

Next stop was Remarkable Rocks

Toby loved exploring all the rocks but needed a few quiet reminders to stay close, with the winds rather strong and gusty the last thing I wanted to do was chase a fly away kid….

On our last day on the island, Steve was able to go out fishing with Danny.
The fish were certainly biting so it didn't take long to 'bag out' on Whiting,

Danny the fisherman and Bow Wow the dog.

The next day we boarded the Ferry back to the mainland and took a detour drive home through Kadina and Moonta to visit Brooke & Jack Day (nee Crawford)
